She was predeceased by: her parents, James Hawkins and Mozell Hawkins (McNeil); her daughter Sherrel D. Johnson; her husband Arlester Brown; and her siblings, Linda Clark and David Hawkins.
She is survived by: her siblings, Johnnie Martin of Cleveland, OH, Sherry Johnson of Tyler, Texas, Margaret Johnson of Tyler, Texas and Charles Hawkins of Tyler, Texas; her grandchildren, Kimberly Powell and Ebonie West; her great grandchildren, Taniyah Kidd and Ari; and her goddaughter Ruth Roman. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
