With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Darryl Ammons (Kansas City, Kansas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 5, 2025 at the age of 64. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the sacred silence of farewell, Darryl is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Darryl's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.

Visitation was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Forest Grove Baptist Church (1417 N 9th St, Kansas City, KS 66101). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

I met Darry and his brother, Terry at Lincoln University, Jefferson City, Missouri circa the late 1980's or 1990's. As [Vocal] Music majors, our musical abilities were keenly molded and shaped by Dr. Robert L. Mitchell, Sr., Charlene Devereux-Mitchell, Dr. Lawrence Andrew Kimbrough, Dr. Robert Adams, Mr. Marshall Penn, Dr. John Taylor, and other University Professors. Your legacy lives on through your family, friends, neighbors, and et cetera. Darryl, you are deeply missed by all who have had the pleasure of spending quality time with you.
