He was predeceased by: his parents, Atanacio Meraz Flores and Petra Medoza Miranda. He is survived by: his children, Oscar, Armando, Olga, Luz E, Librado and Anastacia Meraz; and his sister Rita Meraz. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren.
