It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joseph Bruce Russell of Kansas City, Kansas, who passed away on June 13, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertha Russell (Harris) and John Russell; his wife Connie Russell; and his siblings, Imogene, Hubert, Oscar and Sam.
He is survived by: his children, Allison Smith, Dana Moran (Bill), Cara Carver (Kevin), Brian Russell (Rose), Mike Russell (Shannon), Ronda Prince (Donny) and Theresa Woolley (Donald); and his grandson Mike Russell, Jr.. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the St. Therese Catholic Church (7207 MO-9, Kansas City, MO 64152). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at 10:15 AM at the Resurrection North Cemetery. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Therese Catholic Church (7207 MO-9, Kansas City, MO 64152).
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charity that JB faithfully supported for many years.
