We bid farewell to June Newsom (Kansas City, Kansas), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 23, 2025 at the age of 74. June touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her father Ozell Brown; Ozell Jr. and Charles. She is survived by: her mother Omie Brown (Stanifer); her children, Robert and Sonja (Raffee); her grandchildren, Raffee II, Chelsey, Karice, Sharice, Christopher, Lorraine, Jamie, Roberta, Cierra and Maurice; her siblings, Larry Brown (Cherri), Jeffrey Brown (Rotena), Margaret Pender, Stephanie Gorman and Veronica Mathes; her aunt Barbara Brown; her uncle Wilson Stanifer; and her close friend Donald Lemon. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Peter C. M. E Church (1419 N 8th St, Kansas City, KS 66101). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
