He was predeceased by: his parents, Modeal Nelson Sr. and Allean Starr Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Wanda Hines; his daughters, LaShawn Carter (Charles) and Toyia Alberty; his grandchildren, LaShawn "NeNe" Alberty, LaShaye Brooks, Dominek "Nick" Alberty, Shanae "Nae" Bland (Daniel "DJ"), Traymonz Bryant, Reginald "Reggie" Blackman Jr., Shawniece Pickett and Donnesha Moses; and his siblings, Thomas Nelson Sr. (Marva), Richard Nelson, Patrick Nelson and Arnetta Peghee. He is also survived by 2 Aunts, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
