She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Luman and Neola Carpenter (Hallock); her husband William A. Best; her siblings, Mary Phyllis Carpenter and Francis Carpenter; and her stepchild Byrna Kimberlin.
She is survived by: her children, Marilyn Best of Lawrence, Randall Best (Mary) of Lakeville, Minn and Karen Laurence (Tad) of Lansing, Kan.; and her stepchildren, Bert Watson (Linda) of DeWitt and Brian Watson of Sugarland, Texas. She is also survived by seven grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be directed to Nature Conservancy in Topeka, KS or Good Shepherd Hospice in Lenexa, KS.
