She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Fred Pickert and Hilda Pickert; her husband John McArdle; her children, Terri Atwood of Lawrence and Brian McArdle of Shawnee; her siblings, Rosalie Waner of Lawrence, Gerald Pickert (Carol) of Richmond and Leon Pickert (Lynn) of Lawrence; and her grandchildren, Megan Atwood and Adrianna High. She was also cherished by three great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials in Betty's name to Douglas County Visiting Nurses.
