He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie T Knighton and Hallie V Knighton; his sisters, Becky and Darlene; and his wife Dorothy Jean Knighton.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph L Knighton (Susan), William T Knighton (Susan Hogarth) and Karen M Knighton (Skip Wrightson); and his siblings, Dennis T. Knighton and Sue Knighton Wright (Glen). He is also survived by many nephews and cousins.
In-lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Center.
