He was predeceased by: his parents, Roberts Hawkins and Billie Hawkins (Ashour); his sons, William "Mike" Hawkins and Steve Hawkins; his former wife Rothanne Hawkins; his grandson Brett Hawkins; and his sisters, Beverly McCullough and Margaret Reid.
He is survived by: his son Robert "Bob" Hawkins, Jr. (Nanci); and his brother Bill Hawkins of Ann Arbor, MI.. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.
