She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry and Vernia; and her cousin Roberta Clark. She is survived by: her spouse Raleigh Hoel; and her cousins, Harry Morrison and Ellen.

In lieu of flowers Verna requested memorial contributions be made in her name to the Village Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund, 6641 Mission Road, Prairie Village, Kansas.
