He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Garrett and Lulu Garrett; his wife Edna Marx; his brothers, Howard and Roland; and his nephews, William Mark Garrett and Robert Joseph Garrett.

He is survived by: his children, Marsha Nordman (Eric), John Garrett, Jeff Garrett (Brittany) and Lori Garrett (Nancy Kwilas); and his brother Gene Garrett. He is also survived by six grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild.
