He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank Young and Marjorie Arensdorf Young; and his siblings, Robert F. Young, James F. Young, Elizabeth "Betty" Higgins and Mary Kathryn Amato.

He is survived by : his wife Eleanor E. Maris; his children, Daniel Young of Olathe, KS, Cynthia West (Doug) of Lee's Summit, MO, Mary Borgen (Brian) of Osage Beach, MO and Catherine Jones of Parkville, MO; and his sister Barbara Miller of Kansas City, KS. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to Rice Community Healthcare Foundation in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
