He was predeceased by: his parent Vida Appl (Gates). He is survived by: his parent Fred C. Appl; his wife Natalie; his daughters, Sandra L. Appl (Timothy Tibbetts) of Renton, WA, Charlotte A. VanSkike (Roger) of Hickory, NC and Cynthia L. Appl (Ande Parks) of Baldwin City, KS; his brother Franklin J. Appl (Velma) of Norman, OK.; and his grandchildren, William VanSkike, Sarah VanSkike, Clara Tibbetts, Lucy Tibbetts, Hannah Parks and Henry Parks.
