It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ivan D. Tompkins of Manhattan, Kansas, born in South Haven, Kansas, who passed away on June 5, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace Mae (Morris) and Arden D. Tompkins; his wife Dorothy Ann Groneman; and his brothers, Arlys and Harold.
He is survived by: his children, Paula Sue Tompkins St (Ed Lalor), Diane Heikes (Keith) of Middleton, WI and Bill Tompkins of Wamego, KS.; his sister Mary Ann Dean of Ft Worth; his grandchildren, Eileen McElrath (Matt), Andrew Heikes (Peiying), Amy Hageman (Aric), Margaret Lalor and Abbey Heikes; his great grandchildren, Cormac McElrath, Alan Hageman, Adelaide McElrath, Austin Hageman and Maeve McElrath; and also Judy.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, burial will be in the Kansas Veterans Cemetery with a private family service.
