He was predeceased by: his parents, Sterling W. Gunter Sr. and Lavonne Nina "Bonnie" Gunter (Temple); and his son-in-law Robert Westgate. He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Connie Lynn Westgate of Wamego, Sterling W. Gunter "Corky" of Silver Lake and Douglas Karl Gunter (Monica) of Denton, Texas; his grandchildren, Cassandra Brazzle (Pat), Christopher Westgate, Eric Westgate, Stacie Flippin (Cody), Hayden Gunter and Connor Gunter; his great grandchildren, Remmington Westgate, Ryleigh Westgate, Charlotte Brazzle, Carson Flippin and Cole Flippin; his siblings, Rebekah Reece and John Gunter; and his siblings' children, Debra Hudelson Bland (Bart), Dana Aboulnasr (Medhat), Dee Ann Spiher (Douglas), Phillip Spiker (Lynnee), Wyatt Gunter, Eli Gunter, Jay Stevenson (Marty) and Don Stevenson (Melissa).
The family suggests memorial contributions in memory of Dub to the Prairie Paws Animal Shelter or the Wounded Warrior Project.
