He was loved and cherished by many people including : his former life partner Mary Colleen Lally; his sibling Valley Developmental; his son Ryan Behrens; his brother Paul Behrens; his niece Angel Rupprecht; his wife Colleen Behrens; his daughter Amy Behrens (Dustin Nebe) of Geneva, NE; his grandchildren, Jerret, Bryant and Marrah Hynek; his son Jason Sand (Missy); his grandchildren, Ryan of Beatrice, NE and Will Engelken of Baileyville, KS; his siblings, Dave Behrens (Charlene) of Marysville, KS, Nathan Behrens (Audrey) of Charlotte, NC and Arloa Behrens of Marysville, KS; his siblings-in-law, Terry Lally (Jayne) of Fairfield, NE, Shauna Engelken (Robert) of Seneca, KS and Michelle Wassenberg of Marysville, KS; and also Jay Williamson. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, and many cherished friends.

A memorial fund has been established to Twin Valley Developmental services.
