He was predeceased by : his parents, Martin Lohse and Verna Lohse (Rettig); his stepmother Hulda; and his siblings, Melvin and Verna Saathoff.

He is survived by : his wife Darlene Ann Rippe; his children, David Lohse of Manhattan, KS and Lori Lohse; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Codey), Josh Lohse (Tara) and Brooklyn (Jason); his great grandchildren, Wyatt, Kolter Barber, Harper and Braxton Lohse; his brother Myron Lohse of Hanover, KS; and his brothers-in-law, Lorin Satthoff of Tulsa, OK and Armin Scripter of Abilene, KS. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Calendar Kinsley Mortuary (1006 Broadway St, Marysville, KS 66508). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Calendar Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church (1710 Jenkins St, Marysville, KS 66508).

A memorial fund has been established to the Lutheran Hour and Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Marysville.
