She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles E. Carter and Rosetta Carter (Newell); her husband Harry; her daughter Cheryl Ann Swift; and her siblings, Johnny, Paul, Dale, Larry Carter and Dorothy Carter.
She is survived by: her friends, Lucy and Denny; her daughters, Tammy Swift (Michael Schommer) of Newton and Christa Mellinger (David) of Valley Center; her grandchildren, Stephanie Jo Swift (Jenny), Connor Schommer, Cody Mellinger and Ashton Mellinger (Alex Pinkerton); her brothers, Charles Carter Jr. of Whitewater and Terry Carter (Margaret) of Newton; her sisters-in-law, Connie Carter of Potwin, Dora Carter of Potwin, Dawn Carter of Augusta and Mary Carter of Camden, Missouri; and her sons, Bryck and Duke.
