He is survived by: his mother Hazel Grace Snell (Smith); his sister-in-law Hanawalt; his wife Carol Wedel Snell; his daughters, Rebecca Keith (Becky), Snell Keith and Amanda L. Keith; and his son-in-law James A. Keith. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, stepchildren.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in John's name to the McPherson Museum or the Abilene & Smoky Valley Railroad.
