He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Arthur and Loma Celia Sawyer (Skelton); his brother Harry A. Sawyer, Jr.; and his great grandchild Cory Hughes Jackson. He is survived by: his wife Elaine Fisher; his sons, David Sawyer (Arlene) of Greer and Rick Sawyer of Henderson, Nevada; his grandchildren, Sabrina Elaine Sawyer, Clayton Cargill, Megan Cargill and Israel Hughes (Christine); his great grandchildren, Brody Cargill, Jackson McClain, Declan McClain, Justin Hughes (Kaydee), Noah Hughes, Alissa Griffin, Liam Griffin, Adam Richardson and Elizabeth Hughes; and his great great grandchildren, Lennon Hughes and Dallas Hughes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family would welcome memorials to the Meade County Historical Society or the Kansas Masonic Foundation in care of the funeral home.
