He was predeceased by : his parents, Alfred Farmer and Rowena Farmer (McCrum); his daughter Kathleen Bailey Oatman; and his sisters, Colleen Kelley, Ruth Milam Farmer and Jane Martin Farmer.

He is survived by : his former life partner Betty Jane Martin; his wife Ruth Milam Williams; his grandson Josh; his children, Cynthia Huyett, Rod Farmer (Kris) and Marty Farmer (Sandy); his brother Don Farmer (Paula); and his sisters-in-law, Janice Sprinkle (Lee) and Margaret Ferriman (Rob). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made either to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or First Presbyterian Church and may be left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall Street, P.O. Box 309, Fort Scott, Kansas, 66701.
