He was predeceased by: his wife Arlene; his children, Alice and Kent; his daughter-in-law Ronnell; his grandson Marcus Hampton; his great grandchild Major Hampton; and his parents, Ben Schmidt and Susie Schmidt.
He is survived by: his children, Anita Schmidt of Montezuma and Danny Schmidt of Cimarron; his sister Elizabeth Koehn of Montezuma; and his grandchildren, Tara Hampton of Wichita, Samantha Schmidt of Cimarron, Zachary Schmidt of Cimarron, Cassidy Schmidt of Cimarron and Nicholas Schmidt of Cimarron.
