Martha Garetson Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Martha Garetson (Copeland, Kansas), who passed away on May 29, 2025 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Loucks and Carrie Loucks (Becker); her husband James Reynolds Garetson; her daughter Kerri Batman; and her siblings, Ora, Alva, David, Walter, John, Harvey, Mildred, Effie, Frances, Myrtle, Samantha, Mary Jo and Charlotte.
She is survived by: her children, Jesse Garetson (Jerra) of Pitkin, CO, Chloe Dohrmann (Mike) of Ensign, KS, Debbie Henley (Richard) of Wichita, KS, Melanie Penner (Ron) of Wichita, KS, Andrea Cearley (Mike) of Sublette, KS and Shelly Baldwin (Sid) of Wichita, KS; her grandchildren, Jay Garetson (Jill), Jarvis Garetson (Amber), Janeen Gooden (Joshua), Monica Martinez (Jeremiah), Myra Walker (Lance), Rhesa Webber (Grant), Shane Dohrmann (Tara), Annette Newsom, Shaun Drinnen, Shannon Gouger (Joe), Raegan Henley, Tim Penner (Allie), Jordan Batman (Alyx), Cale Batman, Kate Bryant (Blake) and Nathan Cearley; and also Eric Batman of Great Bend, KS. She is also survived by 48 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Copeland Methodist Church (308 Stanley St, Copeland, KS 67837). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the South Gray Junior High Gymnasium.
