He was predeceased by: his parents, Clay B. Ellis and Neva J. Ellis (Flood); his son Michael Ellis; his niece Mandy Vogt; and his siblings, Clayton and Vickie Dodd.
He is survived by: his wife Laura L. Hamilton; and his children, David J. Ellis, Marsha Wills and Susan Schrader (Andy Schrader). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren.
