She was predeceased by: her former husband Sherman Johnson; and her granddaughter JoLynn Kay Napier. She is survived by: her parents, Leonard W. Carpenter and Edna Carpenter (Good); her husband Alvin; her children, Joyce Napier of Wright County and Herman; her brother Larry; and her siblings-in-law, Dale, Teresa and Faye Johnson of Cedar Gap. She is also survived by six stepchildren; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
