He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Laverne and Verrell Garren (Weinberg); his siblings, Cheryl Forbes and Marty Garren; and his father-in-law Art Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy Johnson; his stepchildren, Brady and Megan Garren; his stepgrandchildren, Jack and Jordi (Olathe); his stepchildren, Ryan and Amanda Garren; his stepgrandchildren, Keira and Carter (Overland Park); his stepchildren, Katie and David Himpel; his stepgrandchildren, Paisley and Nolan (Basehor); his stepchildren, Kristy and Bill Kabus; his stepgrandchildren, Billy and Abby (Oskaloosa); his brother Monte; his sister-in-law Rhonda Garren; his sister Tanya; his siblings-in-law, Steve Newell, Rex Forbes and Julie Garren; his mother-in-law Betty Johnson; and his siblings-in-law, Kirk and Cheryl Johnson. He is also survived by his four children, their spouses.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Barnett Family Funeral Home (1220 Walnut St, Oskaloosa, KS 66066). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
