We are sad to announce that on April 13, 2024, at the age of 89, Gertrude Eva Shumate of Ottawa, Kansas, born in Vassar, Kansas passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gertrude Eva Shumate to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Max Schumann and Anna Schumann (Bachert); her husband Allen Lee Shumate; and her siblings, Gary Schumann and Erma (Houston).

She is survived by : her sons, Lee Shumate of Ottawa and Jeff Shumate (Nancy) of Ottawa, Kansas; her grandchildren, Amy Carlson (Jared), Joshua Shumate and Linda Shumate (Drew White); and her great grandchildren, Madelyn Williams, Brylin Langston, Connor Shumate, Hailey Shumate, Abel Shumate and Olivia Carlson.

A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mount Zion Cemetery (21400 S Croco Rd, Overbrook, KS 66543).
