He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Smith, and Florence Anderson Smith, Sr.; and his siblings, Ralph, Wilmer, Lloyd, Arlie, Virgil, Jr., Charlie Smith, Elsie Anderson, Frances of Lain, Jessie Hoy and Letha Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Letha Ecord; his children, Bruce Smith (Debbie) of Moore, Karen Stromgren (Leroy) of Osage City, Neil Smith (Joni) of Overbrook and Russell Smith (Stephanie) of Overbrook; and his siblings, Hayden Smith of Berryton and Alice Schneider of Plano, Texas. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
