It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Buena Aletha Abernathy (Overland Park, Kansas), born in Burlington, Kansas, who passed away on August 6, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Ethel M. Jolley-Krekel; her husband John Robert Abernathy; her parent August Krekel; and her siblings, Enid, Mareo, Elizabeth, Melva, Delphine and Robert.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her name to Children's Mercy Hospital or Regina's Rescue, a local dog shelter in Parker, Kansas, through the funeral home.
