He was predeceased by: his mother Francine Sweet Moen (Ledward); his former wife Virginia Sweet; and his siblings, Wanda Sweet and Jim Sweet. He is survived by: his great grandchildren, Augusta and Joseph Clyde Sams; his wife Janice; his children, Raymond Sweet (Jessica) of Paola, Kansas. and Robin McClain (Jamie) of Niangua, Missouri.; his grandsons, Trever Sweet of Paola, Kansas. and Mark Sams of Hartville; his great grandchild Joseph Clyde of Hartville, Missouri.; and his siblings, Walter Sweet, Elsie Kinden, Alex Sweet (Gayla) and Montana.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calendar Dengel & Son Mortuary - Paola (305 N Pearl St, Paola, KS 66071). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM.
