It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard Dale Shappell of Paola, Kansas, who passed away on March 15, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his father Andrew Shappell. He is survived by : his wife Madeline Moore; his children, Mary Lynne Driver (Edward) of Lander, Scott Shappell (Matt Fineout) of Paola and Jim Shappell (Sarah) of Gardner; his sisters, Wilma Russell (Dale) of Golden and Kaye Ferguson of Englewood, Colorado; his grandchildren, Ali Shappell, Kyla Shappell, Ariana Cabanas and Jessie Driver; and his great grandchildren, Jackson, Mia and Ezekiel Cabanas. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions can be made to Miami County Cancer Foundation or Olathe Hospice and can be sent c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary-Crematory, 305 N. Pearl St., Paola, KS, 66071.
