He was predeceased by : his parents, Lloyd R. Young and Catherine Young (McDonald); his sister Carolynda Erskine; and his children, Cole Young, Teresa Garrison and Linda Swift.

He is survived by : his sons, Dean Young (Wanda) of Brookings, OR and Michael R. Young of Coeur. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and 7 step great grandchildren.
