She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank N. Mertz and Anna H. Mertz (Wilbert); and her siblings, Paul, Carl Mertz, Mildred Bennett, Suzann Mertz, Floriene Paterson and Irene Magers.
She is survived by: her husband Frank Schountz; and her sister-in-law Barbara Schountz of Pittsburg, KS. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
