He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Ray and Beulah Torbett (Hacker); his wife Patricia A. Smith; his daughter Kristy L. Torbett; and his parents-in-law, Ernie and Mayme Smith.
He is survived by: his son E. J. Torbett of Pittsburg; his granddaughter Morgan Noe of Pittsburg; his close friend Linda Sipes of Pittsburg; his siblings, David Torbett (Rachel) of Independence, Kansas and Katherine Torbett of Kansas City, Missouri; and his niece Amanda Torbett of Lawrence.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests expressions of sympathy in memorials to Angels Among Us &/or Wesley House, in care of Brenner Mortuary.
