She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse E. Brown and Saloma Porter Brown; her daughter Jenell Cruz; and her siblings, Elbert Brown and Mary Toebben.

She is survived by: her children, Cindy Whitley (Jeff) and Bobby Shoemaker (Connie). She is also survived by six grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
