He is survived by: his wife Mary "Tony" Lutz Schauer; his children, Joseph Daniel Schauer IV (Karin Wriggle) of Portland, OR and Deborah Schauer Taylor of Shawnee, KS; his siblings, Jo Ann Schauer Schiffleger (Don) of Merritt Island, FL and James M. Schauer (Gail Burnett) of Raleigh, NC; his grandsons, Peter Daniel, Austin, Brody and Colton Taylor; and his siblings' children, Janette Michelli, Tom and Steve Davis.
