It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eric J Zacharias of Pretty Prairie, Kansas, born in Herbert, Saskatchewan, who passed away on April 8, 2021, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. John E. and Marie H. Zacharias (Klassen); his brothers, Henry Zacharias, Rev. Paul Zacharias and Clifford Zacharias; and his sons-in-law, Elvin Lane and Clark Colbert.
He is survived by: his wife Alice E. 'Betty Melenbacher; his children, Richard Zacharias (Bev) of Wichita, Lynn Charlesworth (Bill) of Montoursville, PA, Veneta Lane of Hutchinson, Rebecca Colbert of Urbana, OH and Ames Zacharias (Sue) of Kennewick, WA; and his sisters, Laura Simpson of New Westminster, British Columbia and Marian Hoeck of Copenhagen, Denmark. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
