He was predeceased by : his parents, John E. Jr. Failer and Frances Brayman Failer; and his siblings, Dale and Marjorie. He is survived by : his children, Marc Failer (Cheryl), Michael Failer, Penny Jenkins of Topeka and Crystal Lamb of Topeka; and his siblings, Richard Failer, Jim Failer and Kathy Maus. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
