She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Mournighan and Marguerite Mournighan; her husband Francis McGowan; her daughter Margaret; and her brothers, Irving, Leonard and Richie.
She is survived by: her sister Peg McLaughlin; her children, Michael (Leslie), Kathleen, Patrick (Esther), Steve (Cindy), Elizabeth (Lynn), Eileen, Maureen (John), Thomas, Joseph, Patricia (David), Brigid and Peter; and her grandchildren, Joshua (Danielle), Shannon, Caitlin, Ryan, Brian (Joyelle), Andrew, Allen (Ashley), Sarah (Cooper), Maggie, Stacey, Dominic and Alexander.
A rosary will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Piper Funeral Home (714 Maple St, St Marys, KS 66536). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 at 5:30 PM at the same location. A requiem service will be held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John Vianney Catholic Church (14611 Waterman Crossing Rd, Maple Hill, KS 66507). A burial will be held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery (21800 Mt Calvary Rd, St Marys, KS 66536).
Memorial contributions in Frances' memory may be made to either the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP) or to Midland Care and may be left in care of Piper Funeral Home.
