She was predeceased by: her parents, Merrian M. Stoker and Evia L. Stoker; her husband Joseph A. Stewart; her brother James O. Stoker; her daughter Lucinda L. Howell; and her stepchildren, JoAnn Stewart and William A. Stewart.
She is survived by: her children, Merrian R. Hodge of Overland Park, KS, Vega M. Howell Jr. of Cainsville, MO, Christopher C. Howell of Shawnee, KS, Evia J. Maag of Salina, KS, Patricia M. Miller of Salina, KS and Monta L. Koons of McPherson, KS.; her adoptive daughters, Virginia M. Burnham of Shawnee, KS and Lisa L. Stewart of Wichita, KS; and her stepchildren, Marilyn J. Stewart of Wichita, KS, Deborah C. Stewart of Wichita, KS and Larry N. Stewart of Mulvane, KS.. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel (11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In addition to flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Peggy's honor to St. Jude's (https://www.stjude.org) or Interim Hospice, whose support was deeply appreciated.
