She was predeceased by : her parents, John B. Haug and Philomena Haug (Koelzer); her husband Alvin Schmits; her son Larry; and her siblings, Lawrence, Pete, Aloysius, Ambrose, Melvin Haug, Ursula Lueger and Clara Meyer.

She is survived by : her children, Gene Schmits (Candy) of Seneca, Jane Smith (Doug) of Lenexa, Carol Baker of Topeka, Linda Stewart (David) of Lenexa and Donna Bacon (Michael) of Lenexa. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
