He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Edward Nelssen and Katie Nelssen (Gouldie); his wife Joyce Ilene McDowell; his granddaughter Kelli Snook; his children, Judy (Dennis Schmidt), Jim Nelssen of Manhattan, Janeen (Bob Hughes) and Jeff (Traci Nelssen); his grandchildren, Amanda (TJ Lehmann), Melissa (Steven Clark), Travis (Sheena Nelssen), Tyler Nelssen (Jordan Morris), Alicia (Justin Lidgard) and Kaylor Nelssen; and his great grandchildren, Nolan, Hayden, Emersyn, Quintin Lehmann, Ella, Ever, Lennox Clark, Easton, Kalynn Nelssen, Roman, Owen Nelssen, Carson Layne and Chase Siegel.
