She was predeceased by : her parents, Floyd Walter and Ella Marie Slimmer (Stephenson); her former life partner Marion "Dale" Jepson; her husband Charles J. "Chuck" Werns, Sr.; her daughter Cheryl Smith; and her sister Wanola Buss.

She is survived by : her sons, Daryl Jepson (Joy) of Topeka, KS and Kent Jepson (Jayne) of Soldier, KS; her son-in-law Ron Smith of Topeka, KS; her stepchildren, Mary Keirsey (Jim) of Gilbert, AZ, Nancy Miller (Dan) of Anchorage, AK and Charles Werns, Jr. (Charla) of Stoughton, WI; and her brothers, Bill Slimmer (Shirley) of Topeka, KS and Gary Slimmer (Barbara) of Topeka, KS. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to the Soldier Christian Church or Holton Community Hospital Hospice.
