It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Stephen Leo Ackerman of Spearville, Kansas, born in Dodge City, Kansas, who passed away on September 22, 2021, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Anthony B. Ackerman and Magdalen F. Ackerman (Schawe); his siblings, Robert, Vic, Denis Ackerman, Karen Ackerman and Vera Dick; and his brother-in-law David Waldron.

He is survived by : his wife Kerry Tripp; his children, Stephanie Hornung, Brad Ackerman (Heather) and Jill Bauer (Rex); his sister Doris Waldron; his parents-in-law, Lawrence and Mary Tripp; his siblings-in-law, Linda Ackerman, Judy Ackerman, Kristin Mendenhall, Bob Dick and Gary Tripp (Pat); and his grandchildren, Payton Schneider, Kyle Schneider, Austin Hornung, Blake Hornung, Stephen Ackerman, Isabella Ackerman, Joselyn Bauer and Julia Bauer.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Windthorst Heritage, Inc. or the Hodgeman County Health Center, both in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
