He was predeceased by : his parents, Dean Wensel and Mylinda Wensel (West). He is survived by : his significant other Nancy Sappington; his sons, Justin Wensel (Sarah) of Tonganoxie and Jon Wensel of Tonganoxie; his grandchildren, Cameron, Audrey, Jackson and Gavin; and his sisters, Doris Storlien of Winfield, KS, Jeraldean Cooper, Arlene Howard of Hindsville, AR and Shirley Waters.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations in his name to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
