She is survived by: her parents, Dorothy Hayes and Conley Hayes; her husband James M. Thorne Sr.; her children, Jay Thorne and Heather Lewandowski; and her siblings, Rick Hayes and Jeannie Langston. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
