He was predeceased by : his wife Carol Connor Oelschlaeger. He is survived by : his parents, Daniel Oelschlaeger and Herriett Oelschlaeger (Scheller); his son Dennis Oelschlaeger (Nicole) of Linwood, KS; his siblings, Linda Shipman (Stan) of Kansas City, MO, Laura Gleason (Sean) and Richard Oelschlaeger (Helen) of Basehor, KS; and also Annette Parsons (Bob) of Shawnee, KS. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Visiting Nurses of Douglas County.
