He was predeceased by : his parents, Leonard McKinstry and Helen McKinstry of In Waverly, KS.; and his brother James McKinstry. He is survived by : his wife Mary McKinstry; his children, Shari Fine (Ron) and William McKinstry; his grandsons, Tanner Fine (Sierra), Barrett Fine and Charley Watts (Tyler); and his sisters, Betty VanSchaick, Shirley Vaughn and Carol Williams. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
