He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Robert and Irma Margaret Elmer (Miller); and his brothers, Tim Elmer, Tom Elmer, Ed Elmer and Steve Elmer.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Elmer (Carbaugh); his children, Daniel J. Elmer of Kansas City, KS, Raymond Elmer (Brenda) of Bonner Springs, KS and Elizabeth Ann Rains (Bryan); and his siblings, Tony Elmer, William Elmer of Hoyt, KS, Mark Elmer of Eudora, KS, Wayne Elmer of Desoto, KS, Rosalie Goodwin of Linwood, KS, Alicia Hayes of Eudora, KS, Ann Hurt of Desoto, KS and Helen Newton of Tonganoxie, KS. He is also survived by six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations in his name to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund.
